Key Responsibilities: To profile, recruit and establish a wealth management team, new business strategy and production targets.
To establish and manage the executive strategy specific to wealth management growth and expansion within the greater Johannesburg area (primary) and satellite offices nationally (secondary).
To grow market share and create business plans to support the company's financial objectives.
To Support the wealth managers in retention of existing clients, whilst simultaneously focusing in business growth.
To Define and execute the long-term strategic goals.
To improve efficiencies and profits in all areas of wealth management, whist simultaneously managing the overall operations of the wealth management division.
To manage, mentor and motivate wealth managers, whilst shaping the work environment, allocating resources, developing/growing wealth managers and building the division.
To simultaneously set and achieve personal wealth management targets (hybrid role).
To fulfil role/management duties as supervisor as-and-when required, specific to wealth management fit-and-proper requirements.
To market the Company and its services throughout the Group and utilise the synergies between Private Wealth and all stake holders to motivate the procurement of profitable business.
Develop and manage a team of 8 Wealth Specialists to exceed 100% of target consistently within the Johannesburg branch, with the view of expansions nationally.
Manage all branch staff activities, hire, train, and retain
Manage targets and the attainment thereof
Sustain, maintain and achieve persistency specific to client retention (new and existing clients), whilst simultaneously achieving new business growth (net).
Ensure that WS are trained on and monitored in relation to cross selling products, including up selling therein
Comprehensive, extensive networking and relationship building events, including but not limited to functions, presentations, corporate functions with string emphasis on brand and relationship visibility
Sound understanding of economic and financial markets both locally and offshore, including political and environmental effects
Ensure all client documentation is compliant and secure in terms of FAIS, FICA and PPI Act, including the offshore associated regulatory environment
Foster a cohesive team approach to all areas of the job
Possess the ability to assess problems accurately and utilise creative techniques to provide solutions within laid down procedures, scope of investment mandate and related constraints.
