My overall job description resides around serving my client needs as per the PR services that clients need. My main goal is to make my clients happy by reaching their goals through results.
My public relations career started in 2014. I have worked for two well-known NGOs in the country, worked for brands in the financial industry, trade, consumer, tech, beauty and insurance.

Reporting to the head of communication —
• Develop an external communications strategy in conjunction with the
Head: SLS Communication strategy, Group external communications strategy and Sanlam’s PR agency — aligned to the SLS Communications strategy.
• Work with the PR agency to develop and implement external (media) action plans for the business areas within SLS i.e. Savings, Sanlam Individual Life, Sanlam Connect, Sanlam Trust (including Wills, Fiduciary and Sanlam Credit Solutions) etc.
• Forge and maintain close working relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders
• Actively and accurately identify ongoing highly relevant media opportunities in support of the Sanlam business strategy and align with respective business areas as well as with their Marketing Managers.
• Monitor and report on the success of the Communications strategy for each of the SLS business areas and for SPF as a whole
• Media monitoring and analysis and effectively managing media liaison
• Participate and drive Crisis Communications and Reputation Management
by assisting to draft potential responses, Q&As and holding statements in reaction to/in preparation for media crisis management which could potentially affect the brand.
• Interviewing and writing (media releases, advertorials, etc) and editing.
• Drafting internal staff communication in conjunction with Human
Resources requests i.e. new appointments, business announcements etc.
• Effectively liaise and manage the engagement of the PR agency with
internal stakeholders
